Trick or treat safety tips for children in Surrey.
Here are some top tips to make sure you have fun, and keep your children safe if you are thinking of taking them trick or treating in Surrey this Halloween.
Try to plan a route, you don’t want to travel too far away and end up with sore feet and legs. Also, you should stick to paths that you know to avoid getting lost. Keep to well-lit streets and avoid any dark shortcuts. If you are unsure of where a street leads – avoid it!
Make sure your children’s costume won’t be an issue, check that your child can walk in their costume and that they find it comfortable to move around in – wearing comfy shoes is a big must. Maybe think about avoiding a mask, they can make it hard for your child to see and breathe. You can complete their look with some non-toxic make-up.
You should only visit houses with the lights on, better yet ones with Halloween decorations outside. Make sure your children know to never enter a house.
When sorting the sweets at the end of the night, you should make sure you check them all. Get rid of any that are not in their original sealed wrapping.
If you are heading out this year, we hope you stay safe and have fun.
