Top tips on how to have a stress-free move with your pets

Moving to a new house can be stressful, but when you have got pets in the mix it can make things worse. With our tips, we can make your move as easy as possible and can even keep the pets happy!

Below we list some ways to help you have a stress-free move…

Keep your pets away

When moving to a new house, it is best to keep your pets in another room or outside in the garden! You don’t want your pets to get hurt when the packing is taking place.

Plan your move

Before the day of your move, make sure your pets can travel.  If you have any doubt, then you should contact your vet. You could also plan your route before, to lessen the amount of time in the car and make sure your pets are as comfortable as possible before you set off to your new home.

The calmer the better

To keep your pets calm during the move, you could buy calming animal products from your vet. These will help the animal feel at ease and settled in an unfamiliar environment.

Change details

When you are settled in your new home, it is important to update your contact details. Your pets insurers, microchip and ID tags.  Depending on how far you move, you may need to register with a new vet.

Stick to routine

It is important that you stay in the same routine with your pets, as you did in the previous home. They need time to get used to their new home, just like we do.
