It’s common sense, but only heat your home when you are there. Ensure you switch off your heating when you head out for the day and turn off any radiators in rooms that are not in use. There are plenty of smart heating solutions available, these will enable you to control your heating system when you are away from the home too.

Keeping yourself warm is very important! Before switching the heating on, you could try other ways to stay warm. Try adding some thin layers of clothing to warm yourself up, add a nice big jumper for good measure and you might not even need to turn the heating on.

If you’ve been out in the cold all day, it can take you a while to get warm. Having a nice hot bath or shower, is a great way to warm yourself up quickly.
