How to sell or let your house in February
The weather may be cold and miserable in February but it doesn’t mean you have to put your property sale on ice.
If someone is willing to make the effort to view your home on a cold, dark and miserable day then they are likely to be serious buyers or renters.
The protocols remain very much the same when trying to persuade the buyers – ensure the property is clean and tidy, keep pets away and make sure you don’t cook pungent food.
The Park & Bailey team have provided some tips for selling your Surrey home this February:
- Keep the lights on in each room during a viewing.
- Keep the temperature at around 21 degrees.
- Have the curtains open during the day.
- If you have a working fireplace, have the flame.
- Soft background music can create a positive atmosphere.
If you are hosting a viewing during dusk then ensure you have your outside lights are switched on as it makes the property seem more attractive as well as shortening the chances of potential buyers tripping over.
Another way to avoid accidents is to shovel salt and remove any snow or ice along the entry to your home so that buyers can safely access your door.
The top tip from Park & Bailey is fresh flowers – February is the time for daffodils and tulips which are a cheap way of brightening up the home.
