About Caterham

The town of Caterham is situated to the south of Croydon and is set amidst the beauty of the Surrey countryside making it a popular location for commuters with its good rail links to London Victoria and London Bridge, in 40 minutes, and its close proximity to the M25 providing easy access to Gatwick and Heathrow airports, and to the South Coast.

Caterham is a popular place for families too because of the excellent primary and secondary schools, in both the private and state sectors, and access to the range of leisure and sporting opportunities such as the youth football teams, rugby and cricket clubs. There are also golf clubs at nearby Woldingham, Surrey National at Chaldon and Purley Downs. The area is particularly popular with ramblers being on the fringe of the North Downs Way.

One of Caterham’s charms is its proximity to the countryside but the town also has a metropolitan feel with an array of shops bars, cafes and restaurants. The Church Walk Shopping Centre provides a range of national retail chains, as well as independent retailers. Caterham is popular with people of all ages and an ideal location to live. It has an interesting history being a former army town and was the original home of the famous Caterham Seven Cars.
